Your price book is the catalog behind your invoices and estimates: every service, part, and fee your shop charges for, with its price. When your office builds an invoice or your tech adds a line item, they're picking from this list — which keeps naming consistent and pricing honest across every job.

How it gets built (we do this part)

During onboarding, Escape imports your price book for you from a spreadsheet — CSV or Excel.

  1. Export it from your old platform. Most service software (Workiz, Housecall Pro, ServiceTitan, Jobber, QuickBooks) has an export button for products/services/price lists. If you can't find it, tell us which system you're on and we'll point you to it.
  2. Send us the file through the onboarding upload page (or reply to any onboarding email with it attached).
  3. We import it, check the formatting, and your whole catalog is live in Escape before training day.

No old system to export from? A simple spreadsheet you type up works fine — name, description, price. We'll shape it from there.

After launch: it's yours to edit, any time

Unlike the automated messages (which Escape maintains for you), the price book is always editable by you:

  • Owners have full control — add, edit, retire, duplicate, or bulk-update anything, any time, no support ticket needed. Open Payments → Products and edit away. Deleting and duplicating are owner-only on purpose: one person owns the catalog.
  • Office and techs can view the price book and add or edit items — so a tech can add the part they actually installed to an invoice at the kitchen table instead of calling the office. They can't delete or bulk-change the catalog.
  • Changes take effect immediately on new invoices and estimates.

Tips from shops that do this well

  • Name items the way a customer reads them. "AC Tune-Up — 21-Point Inspection" invoices better than "TU-STD."
  • Season your prices once, not constantly. A yearly price review beats nickel-and-dime edits — and owners can do it themselves in one sitting.
  • Big overhaul? If you're restructuring the whole catalog (new trade line, hundreds of items), send us the new spreadsheet and we'll re-import it rather than you keying hundreds of rows.
